Benefits to Fasting!
FASTING AND STARVATION: CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEVE,FASTING IS NOT
STARVATION! During a fast, the body is braking down the fat in the body that is being stored,
while conserving the essential tissue and muscles. Fasting causes the body to use Fat for
energy! Starvation however, is the point to which the body has used up all of its fat,tissues,
muscles and reserves. Starvation begins to break the body down of its own essential tissues.
This is starvation..... A very big difference between fasting. The point of starvation for a human
being of normal weight can take quite some time to happen. Some scientist believe it can take up
to 35 days or more for the body to go into starvation mode. Of course this is for someone of
normal weight and eating habits.
THE LONG,SHORT AND MEDIUM FASTS: Everyone should do short term fasts unless the
doctor tells them otherwise. Of course there are always people who for medical reasons should
not fast. In general Long term fasts should be conducted for no longer than 28-35 days. Most
long term fasts are really only for 20 days. LONG TERM FASTING and SEVERE DIETING IS
NEVER RECOMMENDED IT PUTS THE BODY INTO STARVATION MODE! Most of all the
miraculous benefits from fasting can be achieved with a 3-5 day fast. Even a 3-5 day soup or
juice fast most people can see benefits. 7-14 day fast is a healing fast. This type of fast cleanses
the body and detoxes it as well. The medium fasts are usually 14-20 days and show amazing
benefits. All fasts can do miraculous things for the body. A regeneration of the body that takes
years off of your life.
After the third day of a fast the body begins to make ketone in the liver... Ketosis. In the absence
of ketone bodies are produced by the body as an alternate from of energy. Normally the levels of
ketone in the blood are level after the fourth day or so they approach 3.0mm and steadily rise. If
you don't eat at all during the fat this will make your benefits rise! Eating will quickly shift the body
out of ketosis and back into its normal routine for your metabolism.... Decreasing the growth
hormones that are being produced by the fast and increasing hunger.
The big challenge of fasting is obviously not eating... Hello it is hard to go without food! I know!
The big thing to think about is really just the short term fasting... After the first 1-3 days your
hunger levels will fluctuate. This is usually just before the body is starting to shift into ketosis
mode. After the 3rd day you will notice that you are not hungry... Well your hunger levels will have
definitely noticeably decreased. After day 5 the desire for food is decreased even more and by
10days usually your hunger levels are almost non-existent.
While fasting most people lose 1 pound a day some lose more depending on water retention and
exercise..... Metabolism Etc make sure you drink plenty of water all the time while fasting.... And
not tap water please!! No food fasting is great for the body but you need to drink plenty of bottled
water or distilled water to dilute the pathogenic materials and facilitate elimination of toxins of the
skin and kidneys. Some fasters do a 3 day no drink or food fast this is helpful to relieve the body
of severe pollutants within the body but is very difficult to do healthily.
